Members of the group baked cakes to be sold at the event and also held a raffle and a coffee machine was supplied for the event by Roger Heap from Jura which is based on Vivary Way in Colne.

Organiser and Trawden Forest Friendship Group Member Jane Wilcock said: “One of our members, Kathleen Walker, had the idea to host a Coffee Morning and we are lucky to have a lovely community centre which it could be held in. It was a great turn out, especially as it was an awful wet day”.

Trawden Forest Friendship Group Member and Community Centre Volunteer Denise Caffrey said: “Steven and Jane Wilcock did a great job organising the Coffee Morning. We weren’t expecting to raise so much money so we are all really pleased. It was a huge success and we will definitely be hosting another in the future”.

Liz Berridge Trawden Forest Friendship Group Member and Community Centre Volunteer added: “The Friendship Group meets every second Thursday at the Community Centre for either tea and coffee or soup and a roll. We always welcome new members so please come along”.
