Tributes have been paid to secondary school teacher who has died suddenly.
Claire Addington, a teacher at Fisher More School in Colne, died suddenly and unexpectedly on Friday as the school broke for half term.
She lived in Barnoldswick with her husband Gavin, also a teacher at the school, and daughter Grace.
In a letter, the school’s headteacher Clare Hayes paid tribute to Mrs Addington, describing her as a “special person” adding that further details of Mrs Addington’s funeral, to be held on Tuesday, November 8th, will be released on Friday.
Ms Hayes said: “News of Claire’s death has come as a tremendous shock.
“Everyone at school – staff, parents and pupils are extremely upset. Claire was a greatly valued member of our staff and was well-loved by us all, but especially by the children.
“Claire had a very caring and positive attitude to everyone, with a bright and bubbly personality. She always had a smile on her face and spoke highly of everyone around her, as they did of her.
“We will miss her enormously at school. All our thoughts and prayers are with her family at this very sad time.”
