A trio of Nelson nurseries have all been judged as outstanding by Ofsted in separate inspections this year.
Walton Lane Nursery School and its satellite nurseries of Little Stars and Little Tigers have been judged as outstanding in all areas at their respective Ofsted inspections.
All the children in all three settings enjoyed parties to celebrate their success.
In the report for Walton Lane, the inspector said that “teaching is of the highest standard. Staff have a deep understanding of children’s skills, understanding and interests” and that “assessment information is used expertly to plan exciting activities, which are fun and move children’s learning on at a pace”.
Of the early years provision at Little Tigers nursery in the Marsden Community Centre, Marsden Hall Road North, the inspector said “leaders and managers are highly passionate about delivering high-quality care and education for all children” and that “teaching is inspirational and highly motivates children to learn”.
In the report for Little Stars, in Williams Hall, Barkerhouse Road, the inspector was equally glowing stating that “staff use highly effective strategies to help children learn” and “tracking of children’s progress is exceptionally precise, clearly showing superb progress children are making in this vibrant setting”.
Headteacher Jan Holmes said: “I am immensely proud of all the children and staff across Walton Lane.
“Our aim is that our children develop a love of learning, have an excellent start to their education and this is delivered through fun, play activities.
“We see the children flourish and grow and Ofsted have found the same in every one of these three outstanding Ofsted Inspections.”
