VOTE: Did you celebrate Lancashire Day?

TRADITIONAL Lancashire dishes and drinks were served up across the county on Wednesday as people marked Lancashire Day with a host of different events.

Libraries, town centres and other establishments held celebrations and town criers read out the Lancashire Day proclamation.

On the same day in 1295 the first elected representatives from Lancashire were called to Westminster by King Edward I to attend what later became known as “The Model Parliament.”
