Pendle Council has begun delivering its annual refuse and recycling leaflet to all homes in the borough.
Look out for it landing on your doormat and keep it handy!
Coun. David Clegg, who represents waste management, said: “Our annual refuse and recycling leaflet is a very useful reference guide.
“The leaflet is packed full of information about what goes in which container and some useful tips on how to recycle.
“And, of course, it’s got collection dates marked on it – so look out for it and hang on to it to refer to throughout the year.”
The calendar on the back page of the leaflet also tells you if you can expect a change to your collection day over the Christmas and New Year period.
Residents whose normal collection days fall on Christmas Day, Boxing Day or New Year’s Day will have their waste collected on a different day.
Carole Taylor, Pendle Council’s Waste and Recycling Co-ordinator, said: “Our collection crews won’t be working on Christmas Day, Boxing Day or New Year’s Day.
“The biggest change to collections is for residents who are due a collection on Christmas Day. They will have their collection five days early, on Saturday, December 20th.
“Boxing Day’s collections will be caught up on Saturday, December 27th, and New Year’s Day collections will be caught up on Saturday, January 3rd.
“We’re keen for people affected by these changes over Christmas and New Year to make a note of this change when their calendar leaflet arrives. We’ll be reminding them nearer the time too.”
If you haven’t received your refuse and recycling leaflet by the first week of December, call Pendle Council on 661743, email firstname.lastname@example.org or use Contact Pendle on Facebook or Twitter.
