The Met Office has issued a weather warning for Lancashire on Saturday, with winds of up to 70mph expected and the possibility of disruption to transport and power supplies.
The yellow weather warning across Burnley, Pendle and the Ribble Valley has been put out due to another very vigorous depression passing the north of Scotland on Saturday and expected to bring very strong westerly winds to many northern and central parts of the UK.
“Gusts of 60-70mph are likely quite widely,” says the report. “The winds should gradually ease from the west later in the day.
“The public should be aware disruption to transport and possibly power supplies could occur.”
