Do not devalue the Olympics with non-entity sports

In something like 2,555 days, the 2020 Olympics will be held in Madrid, Istanbul or Tokyo.

And the International Olympic Committee has already been discussing a truly new menu for the event.

How’s this for starters – wrestling and baseball. For the main course – karate, roller sports and climbing. And for dessert – squash and wakeboarding.

The IOC already hosts events which appeal to nobody – archery, synchronised swimming, shooting and volleyball spring readily to mind – but to add even more non-entities does nothing but devalue the greatest show on Earth.

Fortunately, there is plenty of time for sanity to prevail.
