LETTER: Time for progress on Sycamore Avenue

THE years go rolling by, eight years to be precise, and still no movement in Sycamore Avenue.

There is a housing estate on one side that cannot be completed and an uncompleted church on the other side in a dilapidated state.

That is what residents have put up with for eight years, paying their council tax to look at a deprived bomb site.

You would not think this was the 21st century – it looks more like the 19th century. Maybe the council or the Government can come up with some solution because the people who started these projects cannot finish them.

One solution that would bring our area back to what it was like would be for the council to buy the building and change it to a sports facility for the children of this area. That would be money well spent.
