Burnley Youth Theatre is helping people to get fit while raising money for their cause.
The Youth Theatre, on Queens Park Road, recently held a 5k race and one mile fun run in Bank Hall and Thompson Park.
Sixty four children and adults aged from three to over 70 were involved in the two races, a lot donning their fancy dress costumes and Youth Theatre members who never normally run also put on their trainers to have a go.
Around £400 was raised for the Youth Theatre, which offers drama and arts activities and opportunities for children and young people ages from nought to 25 and their families.
Community Fundraiser Molly Ralphson said: “It was a really successful first event, we were lucky with the weather and had lots of fantastic volunteer helpers to ensure everything went smoothly.
“There were lots of smiles all around and great feedback from competitors about the route and the chocolate throw-out at the presentation. We will definitely be hoping to make it an annual event.”

The 5K was was won by Colin Cavanagh in a time of 19.59 minutes, the first lady back was Jennifer Smith in 21.47. The first boy in the mile fun run was Matthew Jackson in 6.25, closely followed by the first girl Helana White in 6.29.
The Youth Theatre are continuing their challenging theme and are inviting anyone aged over 16 years to take on the Yorkshire Three Peaks Walk on Sunday May 8th.
There will be experienced walking guides, cake and tea - although you will need your own lunch, snacks and drinks - and two get-out options if it all gets a bit too much. The walk is 24 miles with 5000ft of climb.
The cost is £20 and Burnley Youth Theatre are asking for a minimum sponsorship donation of £10 per walker.
