Whalley started the day second in Section A, but slipped to third as Jonathan Beech’s side produced a surprise victory.
Amir Saddique (75) and Majid Inayat (97 not out) put on 161 for the third wicket as Barnoldswick closed the innings on 227-7.
Joel Blain took another four wickets to stay at the top of the pile for the hosts, taking his tally to 31, while Sam Sweeney added 3-29.

Meanwhile, Earby couldn’t halt Salesbury’s promotion hopes in Section B, after a comprehensive defeat at Ribchester Road.
The visiting batsmen couldn’t cope with the bowling prowess of Sam Bristol, as he took 7-39 from just under 16 overs.
Those were the third best figures on show in the Ribblesdale League so far this season, only bettered by Siviwe Gidana’s 8-13 for Padiham against Baxenden and Matthew Simpson’s 7-36 for Settle against Salesbury in April.
Earby had reached 76-2, before Bristol tore through the order. Andrew Mercer added 3-33 from his seven over spell for the home side.
Salesbury were 2-2 in reply, but the unbeaten partnership between Sachin Rawson and professional Hashen Ramanayake put on 112 for the third wicket to get them over the line in the 26th over. Rawson hit nine fours in his 51 not out, while the Sri Lankan hit nine boundaries in an unbeaten 52.
Earby are at home to Feniscowles on Saturday.
