Colne Cricket Club have signed former Barnoldswick CC and Ribblesdale League star batsman Matthew Nutter.
Nutter boasts an impressive record for Barnoldswick, having chalked up nearly 5,500 runs in just over 200 appearances for the first XI.
During the 2015 season, despite only making 10 appearances, Nutter racked up 448 runs, including an unbeaten century and three half centuries.
Gary Hunt, Colne CC Cricket Manager, said: “Matt has been the stand out batsman in the Ribblesdale League for a number of years now.
“He is a prodigious talent with a terrific record, and he will be a great addition to our improving side, and we are all looking forward to having him at the club.”
Meanwhile, at Colne’s recent presentation evening, skipper Matt Walker was named first team Player of the Year.
Walker also claimed the first XI Batting Award.
The Bowling Award -went to Andy Hakin, the Fielding Award to Tom Bradshaw, and the Performance of the Year was Joel Duerden’s 5-28 off 12.2 overs and 23 not out against Bacup in June.
The second XI Player of the Year was Hamza Danyal, while the Batting Award went to Colin Varley, and Ryan Duerden won the Bowling Award.
Danyal was also the third XI Player of the Year after winning both the Batting and Bowling Awards.
Colne Cricket Club would like to thank the companies who kindly donated raffle prizes on the evening, and helped to raise money for the club.
