The players of Colne Cricket Club are set to embark on a major fund-raising event throughout the month of January.
They will be undertaking the 1830 Challenge, a sponsored group distance coverage event in partnership with Intershape Gym Colne.,
In order to help raise funds ahead of the forthcoming season, the players will need to go that extra mile as they look to cover a total of 1,830km between them.
The club, which was founded in 1830 and is the oldest in the Lancashire League, has recently undertaken a major transformation, following the appointment of Jane Williamson as chairman.
Events such as the inaugural Colne CC Beer Festival have helped the club secure a more stable financial footing.
However, without the continued support of the local community, the club could still face dark times.
The 1830 challenge, which has been made possible thanks to the generous donation of the use of cardio machinery by Maggie Duckworth of Intershape Gym, represents an ideal opportunity for the players and friends of the club to show their support and provide a major boost which will go along way to help towards providing a better future for the club.
