Nelson beat Haslingden by three wickets at the CDM Windows Cricket Ground at Bentgate on Sunday in the Foster’s Lancashire League Division A.
Haslingden won the toss and elected to bat, and opener, captain skipper Phill Hayes, hit 101 from 130 balls as his side closed on 194-9 in their 50 overs.
After losing Graham Knowles for a 10-ball singleat eight, Hayes and Lewis McIntosh (25) put on 80 for the second wicket.
Hayes continued to anchor the innings, hitting seven fours and a six, before being eighth man out at 192.
He found support from Keegan (10) and Sean Hunsley, with a league best 16,.
Nelson skipper Neil Thompson was the pick of the bowlers, taking 4-54 from 12 overs.
Substitute professional Johnny Riekert, of Ribblesdale League side Euxton, took 1-39, Wasim Qureshi 2-30 and David Crotty 2-11.
In reply, Lewis Bradley (29) and Crotty (43) put on 81 for the first wicket, sending a good foundation for the run chase.
The pair both fell at 81, but Riekert (31) and Matthew Pettinger (13) moved the score to 112, and Thompson (11) and Elliot Bradley (10) helped eged towards the target, before Qureshi (26 not out) and Mashine Hussain (14 not out),saw them over the line.
On Sunday, Nelson host league leaders Clitheroe at Seedhill, before entertaining Darwen a week on Sunday, and travelling to Todmorden on Sunday, September 17th.
