ROCK Rovers finally saw action for the first time in two months as the reserves won 3-2 at home to Stacksteads St Joseph’s.
Rovers took command in the first quarter of the game with a brace from man of the match Andrew Stobbs.
But the visitors halved the deficit 10 minutes from the break with a strike from the edge of the area.
In the second half, Liam Roberts lifted the ball over the keeper from a tight angle to make it 3-1, before, in a wind-affected game, Stacksteads pulled one back with an effort that deceived the keeper with 15 minutes left.
Rock held out to take the points, and they are at Rimington tomorrow, with the first team at Bacup, meet The Venue at 12-30 p.m.
