No matter what happens in the remainder of the season, Burnley will have won more games than they have lost in a Premier League campaign for the first time.

With three games to play, the Clarets have 14 wins, 11 draws and 10 wins, having previously finished W11 D7 L 20 in 2016/17, W7 D12 L19 in 2014/15, and W 8 D6 L24 in 2009/10.

Sean Dyche feels that is another sign of progress: “That in itself is a marker, it’s very difficult.

“We worked hard as a group and a collective in order to get that.

“That has to continue.”

Dyche is closing in on managing more games in the Premier League than Championship with Burnley: “I also think I’ve (almost) managed more games now in the Premier League than in the Championship here, and that in itself is another marker.

“I’m very proud of that.

“It’s very difficult to be a young British manager in the Premier League and to stay there and keep doing what we’re doing. It’s not just the team, it’s me as well. But we know we have to continue to work for everything.”
