Barnoldswick top six hopes suffer blow
Town’s hope of a top six finish were struck a blow by Norton United on Saturday as they won 1-0 at the Silentnight Beds Stadium.
Barnoldswick missed a whole host of chances in the first half, while Norton snapped up their one real chance of note, Daniel Brown scoring what proved to be the only goal of the game after 32 minutes.
The second half saw more Town domination, but with no end product as the hosts went down in front of a crowd of 126.
Town are at Glossop North End tomorrow, kick-off 3 p.m., before a home clash against AFC Blackpool on Tuesday night, kick-off 7-45 p.m.
The side round off their campaign with games at title challengers Bootle a week tomorrow, and then at home to Congleton on Tuesday, April 30th.
The reserves were at home on Tuesday night against Wigan Robin Park.
Chris Gaskell’s men strengthened their grip on fifth place in the Reserve Division, winning 3-1 with two goals from Ross Walker and one for the first team’s joint manager Paul Fildes.
Town’s reserves travel to Bentham tomorrow in the Craven Cup, kick-off 2 p.m.
