Alex Norwood’s recruitment drive isn’t complete just yet after the Admirals boss added another couple of faces to his squad.

Teenage defender Robbie Jenkinson followed 16-year-old striker Morgan Crowther through the doors at Victoria Park ahead of the 1-0 defeat against Maine Road midweek.

Jenkinson, 18, joins the Blues on loan from League Two Morecambe while Crowther, who has previously enjoyed spells with Blackburn Rovers and Leicester City, makes the temporary move from Coventry City having agreed a two-year scholarship with the club.

Nelson continued their fight for survival with a 3-0 win over Congleton Town at the weekend at the Richborough Estates Stadium thanks to Ben Hoskin’s double.

He opened the scoring in the 36th minute when volleying in to the corner from the edge of the penalty area before adding his, and the away side’s, second shortly after the interval when converting Jay Hart’s pass.

The visitors completed the scoring in the 87th minute when Hart raced down the left hand side, supplied the cross and Mark Sharples fired home first time to open his account for the campaign.

However, the Blues were unable to stretch their unbeaten run as Richard Williams’s goal just after the hour proved the difference at Little Wembley.

Norwood’s men now entertain First Division outfit Chadderton in the quarter-final of the Macron Cup tomorrow, kick off 3 p.m.
