Brierfield Celtic continue to go from strength to strength after almost 44 years providing junior football.
The club’s Under 13 girls (pictured) are now in their third season, and have improved year on year, currently standing fourth in their league, having played a game less than teams above them.
The Under eights have now got enough players to form a second team when they start playing indoors this month.
Secretary Dave Johnson said: “Four of our 12 teams are now coached by Asian managers, which, in our opinion, reflects extremely well on the area in which our club originates, which does have a large Asian community.
“Over the last four or five years we have actively encouraged more Asian children to join.
“In fact our under 8 second team will be coached by an Asian female manager, who we believe to be the first in Lancashire!”
The club will always encourage young children of all abilities and background to join. If anyone has a boy or girl who is aged from four to six, and who would like to have some fun learning the basics with a view to playing league football. you are welcome to go along to Marsden Heights Community College on Edge End Lane, Brierfield at 5-30 p.m. on Tuesday evenings.
