Burnley could be without five key players when they face Premier League leaders Manchester City

Another spate of injuries has rocked the Clarets camp ahead of a busy period, which will see the club take in three games in six days.

Dyche will run the rule over Charlie Taylor and Ashley Barnes ahead of kick-off after the pair were sidelined for games against Fulham, Aston Villa and Chelsea.

"We've still got a couple who are 'touch and go', but the decisions are almost being taken out of the players' hands at times," he said.

"We're having to make decisions as a staff because players are always desperate to play so we've got to make sure.

"We keep getting players fit and then they get re-injured or others have got injured. Charlie Taylor is touch and go as is Ashley Barnes."

The home side are also expected to be without leading scorer Chris Wood (hamstring), who limped off just after the hour at Stamford Bridge.

Republic of Ireland international Robbie Brady, who was also withdrawn in Burnley's previous fixture, is also set to miss out.

Dyche said: "Woody came off the other day and we're still finding out the depth of that, Robbie Brady is still struggling a little bit with his Achilles, so he's unlikely.

"We're just having that spell where we're getting them fit and then we get others injured. It's tough on the group."

Meanwhile, Josh Brownhill, who was replaced at half-time against Aston Villa, is struggling with a foot injury.

"Josh Brownhill is another one, though his injury is more straightforward as it's just a pain issue," said Dyche.

"It isn't ideal because it's on the top of his foot, but there's no fracture or anything sinister. These are important players to us.

"I don't think any of them are major ones, but we'll await a bit more news on Robbie and Woody.

"With another three-game week it's hard to think that they're going to make those games."
