Ahead of tomorrow’s meeting at Turf Moor, Austin is being touted for England after hitting 12 goals so far this season.

Only Sergio Aguero and Diego Costa, with 14, have more, and the former Clarets striker’s haul adds to the 20 he claimed on the way to promotion with the Hoops last season.

Austin was on target in Rangers’ 2-0 win over Burnley at Loftus Road last month, and Dyche said: “Charlie has done really well - he left here as a good player, and I had no doubts whatsoever over him doing well.

“He had a tough time with injury at times last year, but he’s been fit all season and is scoring goals at the top level.

“I always felt he had that in him.”

QPR, meanwhile, come to Burnley looking for their first away point of the season.

The Rs have lost all nine games on the road in the Premier League so far this campaign, but go in search of a double over the Clarets.

Dyche isn’t fooled by QPR’s away form: “QPR have a very experienced group of players and manager, and their home form has been very good.

“They will want to improve their away form, but it represents another tough game for us, for sure.”
