Burnley will break their transfer record to sign Belgian international midfielder Steven Defour.
The Clarets have reached an agreement with Anderlecht for the 28-year-old former Porto man, with an offer of €8.5m accepted, to be paid up front.
It was thought Defour was bound for Abu Dhabi and Al Jazira, who were prepared to pay €7m - Anderlecht's asking price two months ago - while bettering Burnley's wage offer by 50%.
However, Anderlecht couldn't agree terms with the UAE club, and Defour has decided to try his luck in the Premier League.
The player will undergo a medical on Monday, with a four-year deal agreed.
Clarets boss Sean Dyche was in the stand at the Constant Vanden Stock Stadium to watch Defour score in a 5-1 win for Anderlecht against KV Kortrijk on Saturday.
