Striker Ashley Barnes feels teams will fear playing the Clarets after making the Premier League sit up and take notice with their result at the champions.
Barnes hit an 82-minute equaliser at Manchester City on Sunday as Burnley came from 2-0 down to take a well-deserved point.
For Barnes, it was a fourth goal in eight games, since being restored to the side, and he said: “We belief in ourselves, I think everyone is going to be scared of playing us now.
“We’re the underdogs and we thrive off that and that’s all we can do.”
After his stunning strike at Spurs, his thumping effort gave Joe Hart no chance, and he enjoyed the goal: “It was a magnificent feeling. It wasn’t just about me, it’s about the team performance. We dug deep and it showed out there against the champions.”
Barnes’ workrate was highlighted on Match of the Day later in the evening, giving World Cup Finalist Martin Demichelis and £32m man Eliaquim Mangala a torrid time, and he smiled: “It’s brilliant. All you can do is work hard and see where it takes you, all I try and do is give 110% in the shirt everytime I put it on.”
