Clubs join forces to help charity effort

Brierfield Celtic FC and Pendle Forest FC have joined forces to hold a 7-a-side adult knock out tournament to raise money for Cancer Research and Pendleside Hospice.

Eight teams will compete for a winners trophy and their will also be a trophy for the top goal scorer.

The event is being held at Pendle Forest’s club and ground opposite Wheatley Lane on the Padiham by-pass on Sunday, August 7th from 1-4 p.m.

Entrance will be £3 only for adults with under 12s being admitted free.

There will be a licenced bar, food available and a bouncy castle and face painting for younger children.

There will also be a raffle with prizes of a meal for two at the Healthy Choice Diner in Burnley, a week’s free training at Invigor8 gym in Burnley amongst those to be won.

Please go along and enjoy some adult 7-a-side football and help raise as much as possible for these two worthy causes.

In order not to cause congestion due to limited parking on the site, people are asked to park in Wheatley Lane and walk to the event if at all possible.

• Brierfield Celtic FC are looking for some extra players for their Under 11 Red team.

Players need to have been born between September 1st, 2000 and August 31st, 2001.
