COLNE United produced a stirring comeback as they fired in two goals in the last five minutes to snatch a 2-2 draw at home to Oswaldtwistle St Mary’s.

The late fightback means the locals have only tasted one defeat in their last four matches.

United showed lots of early energy, and Gaz Hargreaves tested the keeper as his low drive was palmed around the post.

Colne failed to turn their possession into chances, and were made to pay the price on the stroke of half-time as a wild clearance found its way to the Ossy striker, who made no mistake from five yards out.

Colne huffed and puffed after the break, but Ossy doubled their lead on 65 minutes.

With five minutes remaining substitute Stuart Green prodded home at the second attempt, and in injury time a fine predatory strike from Ashton Spencer - his sixth of the season - earned Colne a valuable point at the foot of the table.
