The bombshell news was announced this morning and has been met with mixed emotions by Burnley fans.

Coyle walked out on Burnley halfway through the Clarets first-ever Premier League campaign to join relegation rivals Bolton Wanderers.

Coyle, who still lives in the Ribble Valley was sacked by the Trotters and ended up managing Houston Dynamo in the MLS.

It is believed he is the first man to manage both clubs.
