Nelson’s game with Maine Road on Saturday was postponed after the Victoria Park pitch failed an inspection.

The game will be rescheduled at a later date.

The Blues, now without a game since January 3rd, were scheduled to return to action yesterday when they travelled to Brocstedes Park to take on third place Ashton Athletic.

Mark Fell’s side went there without former player-managers Robert Grimes and Michael Morrison, who have left the club.

Grimes, who was club captain, made almost 70 appearances in three spells with the Admirals, and scored 19 goals last season to help claim the NWC First Division title.

Morrison has made 18 appearances this season, scoring twice.

Nelson, despite Saturday’s postponement, remain fifth in the Premier Division ahead of tomorrow’s fixtures.
