Hectic start to term for Barnoldswick Town

Barnoldswick Town were back in action at home to North West Counties League newcomers Charnock Richard.

Town were at Rochdale Sacred Heart on Thursday night, after Tuesday night’s 6-1 defeat at home to Evo-Stik First Division North neighbours Clitheroe, who had also put six past Silsden on Saturday.

Tuesday night sees Colne visit the Silentnight Beds Stadium (kick-off 7-45 p.m.).

Stewart Airdrie’s side will open the new season on Saturday, August 6th with an FA Cup extra preliminary round tie at home to Dunston, before their league campaign starts on Tuesday, August 9th - providing there is no need for a cup replay - at home to Squires Gate.

Games against AFC Liverpool (a), AFC Darwen (a), Padiham (a) and New Mills (h) will then follow before a hectic opening month culminates with a derby against Nelson at Victoria Park.
