Following the takeover of ALK Capital, Clarets fans had hoped to see some transfer activity last month to help aid the club’s position in the Premier League table but nothing significant arose.
Indeed, any relegation fears have once been eased by Dyche and co following the empathic 3-0 win at Crystal Palace at the weekend.
A few more results like that and Burnley will all-but retain their top-flight status and begin looking ahead to next season.
But according to The Sun, preparations for the upcoming transfer are already underway, with an American on the club’s radar.
It is claimed the Clarets are set to make a shock move for Benfica goalkeeper CJ dos Santos as a back up to number one Nick Pope.
The 20-year-old has mostly featured in the Portuguese club’s B team, however, Burnley have seen enough to convince the club to sign him.
The USA international wants to come to the Premier League. Dos Santos should make the criteria for a work permit if a deal can be reached.
