Foulridge footballer Morgan Ratcliffe has just completed his first year scholarship as an Under 18 footballer with Mansfield Town.
Morgan and his teammates all train and live at Brooksby College and in their first season have finished top of the North East Division of the U18 Youth Alliance, with Morgan captaining the side.
It is a tremendous achievement as most of the team are first year scholars and have been playing against second year scholars from other teams.
Their achievement has been summed up by the first team manager Adam Murray, who said: “To achieve what they’ve done this season has been phenomenal.
“It’s a massive milestone for the football club to be able to do that”
During the year, Morgan he has had the opportunity to train with the first team, including former Burnley goalkeeper Brian Jensen, which he described as “an awesome, nerve-wracking but immensely enjoyable experience.”
