Nelson have unveiled plans for development at Victoria Park in honour of one of its most famous sons.
Plans are afoot to build a new stand at the current home of the Admirals in the name of former manager and Liverpool legend Joe Fagan.
The club are keen to improve the current facilities to allow the Admirals to move up the non-league pyramid should the opportunity arise, and to offer more to the local community and raise engagement at the stadium.
Discussions have begun with Pendle Council, and the club are hoping to have the project completed this season.
The club are pleased to have the full support of the Fagan family for this venture.
The new stand will be situated at the bar end of the ground and be a structure to include around 150 seats.
The club hope to raise enough money to add additional features to the stand, including, potentially, a new snack bar, and the club have set a £20,000 fundraising target.
Details of how donations can be made online will be available shortly, as well as a display board at the ground with plans, and a funds raised gauge.
One of the most eye catching fund-raising events is the Joe Fagan Walk, masterminded by Commercial Manager Neil McGuiness and Mike Wilson of Redwood events.
The plan is for a hard-core of 16 walkers to make their way from Anfield to Victoria Park.
The 62.8 mile journey will start on Friday, December 12th and go through the night to arrive at Victoria Park in time for the Blues’ game with Runcorn Linnets the day after.
The walk will be split into a series of 16 legs, with an opening open leg from Anfield to Goodison Park and a final open leg in Nelson.
The walk will take in nine football grounds along the way - Liverpool, Everton, Wigan, Bolton, Radcliffe Borough, Bury, Accrington Stanley, Burnley and Nelson.

Nelson also opened their newly-refurbished Hospitality Lounge on Saturday.
