Nelson ended a run of four successive defeats on Wednesday night as they drew 0-0 at home to Maine Road.
However, the Blues were left to rue a number of missed chances to claim all three points in their penultimate home game of the season.
On Saturday, Nelson suffered a fourth straight defeat, going down 2-1 at Congleton.
Chris Smith and Declan Fletcher were on target in the first half to put Congleton in charge, but the Blues got a foothold in the game a minute after the restart as Matt O’Neill clipped the ball over the keeper from a clever free kick from Peter Wright.
Nelson pushed for an equaliser, but despite the Blues creating the better openings, the Bears hung on to claim all three points.
The Blues are at Glossop North End tomorrow, and Runcorn Town on Monday.
