Pope has missed the last two games with a shoulder problem, but trained ahead of the 3-1 defeat at Old Trafford on Sunday, and has trained this week.

Depending on his reaction to training on Thursday, the England international could return at the expense of Northern Ireland number one Bailey Peacock-Farrell at Molineux.

Boss Sean Dyche said: "Popey has been good. I suggested last week that he was over the biggest hurdle of it, but he is looking strong again.

"He has trained fully with us today (Thursday), and if there is no reaction then he is back in consideration."

However, Dyche is again without Ashley Barnes and Kevin Long, while Robbie Brady could be out for the season, when he will also be out of contract: “Barnesy is not ready yet, but making really good progress.

”He’s been back with the team this week and active with the team in sessions.

”We have just got to be a little bit careful because he has been out a long time.

"Robbie Brady is still struggling, it is going to be a while and touch and go for the season.

"Kevin Long we are just trying to settle down and it is not quite getting there.

"Two of those three still have a bit to go, but Barnesy is getting fitter and sharper so we are pleased with that.”
