Barnoldswick Town suffered two home defeats over the week.

On Saturday, Town were unfortunate to go down 2-1 against Bootle at the Silennight Stadium, before suffering a 4-2 setback against Squires Gate on Tuesday night.

Town went a goal down after four minutes against Squires Gate, allowing Richard Seear to beat three players with ease and score inside the near post.

Jonathan Hodgkinson then upended Brett Dawson just after the half hour mark, and Dawson sent Jordan Gidley the wrong way from the resulting penalty.

Town conceded again seven minutes into the second half, Saeer scoring his second.

Town should have pulled one back as Shaun Airey and Aaron Hollindrake twice missed gilt-edged chances.

James Crorken did make it 3-1 just after the hour, but Seear completed his hat-trick in the 90th minute.

Two minutes into injury time, Hollindrake scored at the far post with a header.

On Saturday, a depleted Town lost new signing Zack Dale after 12 minutes with a slight hamstring strain, with John Beckwith coming on.

Carl Peers put the visitors ahead two minutes before the break, before Town equalised on 61 minutes, Beckwith heading the ball down and in.

However, Bootle nicked the points as Kieran Halligan dived forward and placed the ball wide of Gidley.

Town are at Winsford United tomorrow.
