A STRONG comeback saw Pendle Forest Under 15 Green oust Haslingden 2-1 in a tight match.

The two teams were level at 0-0 for 20 minutes thanks to some brilliant defending from Forest and a superb save from Matty Shaun.

The deadlock was soon to be broken though as Haslingden whipped in a cross which was headed into the back of the net.

In the second half, Forest turned the game on its head.

The equaliser was easily Forest’s best goal of the season.

It was set up by Cory Topping and smashed in off the bar by Andy Munro from all of about 25 yards.

Forest’s little midfielder Jack Starkie put in a spectacular performance, embarrassing the opposition with his trickery and skill.

With just under 15 minutes remaining Forest were on top and looking the more likely team to score and they did with yet another goal from Andy Munro.

It was a long ball from Michael Molineux which the opposition keeper made a mess of and there was Andy Munro to put it in from six yards and make it 2-1.

• Pendle Forest Tigers Under 13 lost out 1-4 to Great Harwood Rovers Under 13s.

Three first half goals sealed the victory for Great Harwood Rovers against the Tigers at Holt House.

The second half was a much closer game and the Tigers pulled a goal back when Man of the Match Jake Seddon headed home a superb cross from Joshua Digby. However Great Harwood scored a fourth to win it 4-1.
