That's the verdict of striker Matej Vydra after Burnley were pegged back in games against Southampton and Newcastle United.

The Czech Republic international netted in both games - opening up a two-goal cushion at St Mary's while opening the scoring against the Magpies.

Vydra, 28, beat Martin Dubravka on Sunday to register his third goal in five Premier League games as he netted in back-to-back top-flight fixtures for the first time since February 2020.

However, ex-Nice forward Allan Saint-Maximin was introduced from the bench to help the visitors turn the game on its head.

“It is positive for myself because I scored, but if I could I would swap the goal for three points because that is more important right now than my statistics,” said Vydra.

“We were unlucky we didn’t score a second goal because we had quite a lot of chances at the beginning of the second half.

“When they scored for 2-1 it was difficult because the whole team was dropped on the box and we didn’t create that many more chances to draw.

“If we had scored for 2-0 it would have been over, but we have to be focused for 95-plus minutes.

“In the last two weeks we have been winning and not taken any points.

“With six weeks to go we have to be focused every single game and to start to take some points because in my opinion we lost six points from our last two games.”
