REACTION! Burnley fans have their say on the 1-0 win over Watford at Turf Moor

Supporters might be the victims of the 'new normal' in football as Government guidelines continue to prohibit large gatherings inside stadiums.

But, rest assured, the thousands of fans normally housed inside Turf Moor on matchday would have been heading and kicking every ball at home.

It has been a difficult week for the club off the pitch, but the Clarets responded on it as Jay Rodriguez's strike sealed victory over the Hornets.

Burnley fans took to social media post-match to have their say on an eighth home win of the campaign.

@benkilbride85

Tell you what, that’s a brilliant performance considering everything that’s gone on.

@claretnorris

Excellent performance first half and unlucky not to be a couple ahead. Excellent linkup play with a great finish in a dogged second half performance.

@Gingerclaret

Get absolutely battered on Monday night. Off field troubles with planes and contracts. Face a rejuvenated Watford with a threadbare squad in tropical heat. Win 1-0. Sean Dyche’s Burnley in a nutshell.

Better performance. Typically tight and organised with a few scoring opportunities before the break. Weathered a brief Watford storm in the second period before a bit of magic from Brownhill, McNeil and Rodriguez sealed a deserved three points.

@rickcraven600

Fantastic result after the 5.0 drubbing and the off field events.

@monkhouse13

Excellent first half, second half Watford were better but we took the goal well. I hope Garlick backs Dyche in summer, it'll be bad news if he leaves.

@leemcnulty4

Great 1st half but Watford came at us when changing formation in 2nd but not to bother utc

@samBFC442

Nick Pope to get the golden glove

After a difficult week on and off the pitch the depleted Clarets dug in and showed the grit and determination that we've admired in the manager. He needs to be backed. Finances have taken a battering so it's going to be tricky. We need the business acumen from the board now.

@Barlickclaret

More like the clarets we know .. got to invest in some good honest reliable players to bring depth back to the squad .. Pope is a beast and golden glove or no golden glove we are very lucky to have him.

@longsideliveson

Great result. First half impressive and unfortunate not to grab a couple. Second half a struggle but one piece of @dwight_mcneil99 and @JayRodriguez9 magic enough with our resolute rearguard action. Great to see us back in action.

Nick Cee, on Facebook, simply added: 'Class header. The end.'

And James Anthony Sherbourne commented: 'Good tonight - good result. Brilliant header.'
