Rock Rovers stretch their lead at the top

FORMIDABLE Rock Rovers extended their unbeaten run to 12 games with a 3-1 win over second-placed Padiham.

Mark Dutton put the league leaders ahead early in the second half but his strike was cancelled out by Stephen Cassidy.

Chris Hindle restored Rock’s lead as he powered a header home from a corner before Mark Feeney made sure of the points after ghosting in at the back post to convert a dangerous cross.

Midfielder Keiran Roberts was named man of the match and Rock now sit five points clear of closest rivals Borrowdale United, with a game in hand.

Rock face struggling Clitheroe RBL tomorrow.

Rock Reserves climbed the table following a fine 3-0 victory over Enfield. Matthew Robinson, substitute Hayden Lord and Levi Whiteoak scored. The reserves entertain Hurst Green tomorrow.
