One of Colne’s oldest amateur football teams kicked off their new season in a brand new kit thanks to a generous donation from Denwa Communications.
Colne United, currently top of the East Lancashire Football League First Division, are aiming to bounce back to the top flight at the first attempt following relegation last term.
And to mark the new season the club has recently purchased a brand new yellow and blue kit using a £530 donation from the Barrowford-based telecommunications and IT services provider.
Manager of Colne United, Marcus Duxbury, said: “We just want to say a huge thank you to Denwa for the donation, which has allowed us to buy a brand new kit.
“As a voluntary team with limited money, sponsorship like this goes a long way to protecting the club’s future for another few years.”
Rob Scott, Director at Denwa, said: “Denwa is proud to sponsor a well-established local team in Colne United, who play their home games just down the road. We hope the kit brings the team success and wish them well for the forthcoming season.”
