Barnoldswick Town Under 18s have claimed the East Lancashire Yellow League title.
Town won 12 out of 14 league games to finish top by seven points.
Captain Max Smith finished as the league’s top scorer with 21 goals.
The team has been very fortunate this year to receive grants from a number of groups – a Grow The Game Grant from the West Riding FA, which helped with funding for training kit and part payment of their strip.
And for the eighth year running the club received another contribution towards their strip from local businessman Wayne Smith, who runs HT Distribution Services Ltd. The main grant has come from the Football Foundation, which has given funding for three years for development, aiding with training facilities, referees’ fees, coaching course costs and a £250 voucher for a strip.
This team was going to fold , but these grants have ensured that it has survived and prospered.
