Barnoldswick Town continued their strong finish to the season on Tuesday night as they made it six wins from seven at Padiham.
Danny Craig’s side top the form guide in the Hallmark Security North West Counties Premier Division, and maintained their excellent run at the Arbories.
Zack Dale’s 22nd goal of the season, a minute from time, gave Town the points at Craig’s former club, as Town came from behind to win.
Aaron Fleming gave the Storks a 21st-minute lead, but Ben Gorman levelled matters two minutes later, before Dale’s dramatic late intervention.
Town also won on the road at Abbey Hey on Saturday, claiming a 2-0 triumph, with Dale and Gorman again on the scoresheet.
Dale netted the opener from the spot seven minutes after the break, and Gorman sealed the points midway through the second half.
And last Thursday, Town won 3-2 at Bootle.
Harry Thompson struck after 10 minutes to put Town ahead, and Aaron Hollindrake made it 2-0, before Kevin Edgar pulled one back for Bootle right on half-time.
Hollindrake’s second, just before the hour, put Town well in control, and Daniel Boden’s 85th-miniute goal proved mere consolation.
Barlick still have seven games to cram into the closing few weeks of the season – after last night’s home game with Winsford United – but they head into the busy schedule looking good for picking up more points.
They host Barnton tomorrow and are at Ashton Athletic on Tuesday night.
Meanwhile, in the Morrison Cup Semi-Final, Barnoldswick Town’s East Lancashire League side beat Hellifield Sports 4-2.
Jonathan Davies gave Town a 10th-minute lead, and Lewis McKane made it 2-0 on 19 minutes.
Teal Amos (pictured) added a third six minutes before half-time.
And, sandwiched between two Hellifield goals, James Hughes settled the issue nine minutes from time.
