Barnoldswick were unfortunate to exit the Emirates FA Cup on Saturday.
And they were made to regret missed chances as they lost 1-0 at home to AFC Darwen in the North West Counties Premier Division on Tuesday night.
In the cup, Town travelled to Albion Sports, but after coming back from 2-0 down to equalise, lost to a late sucker punch.
Albion scored with their first real attack on the half hour through Alex Cusack.
They increased their lead in the second minute of the second half from the spot.
Connor King guessed right, but the shot from Asif Hussain was too powerful.
Town pulled one back after 63 minutes, Joel Melia swivelling to shoot past keeper Jake Lofthouse.
Danny Craig’s side pressed for an equaliser, and it came in the 90th minute through Danny Boyle.
However, Albion went up the other end, and Dean Overson made a hash of a pass which let Danny Facey in, his scuffed shot finding the far corner.
On Tuesday, Town went down to Bobby Langford’s 28th-minute goal for Darwen in the league.
Town are in Buildbase FA Vase first qualifying round action tomorrow at home to Dunston UTS.
