Unbeaten West Craven win Pendle Schools’ tournament

A superb all round performance from West Craven High School’s Year 7 boys saw them crowned Pendle Schools’ 7-a-side champions recently.

The team scored an impressive 16 goals, while conceding only once, in five games against their rival schools from across the borough.

They recorded victories over Primet, beating them 4-0, Pendle Vale 5-0, Marsden Heights 5-0 and Fisher-More 1-0, before being held to a 1-1 draw by Park High School.

In that game, came the goal of the competition, scored by West Craven’s Daniel Edwards.

Daniel received the ball from the kick-off, in his own half, before he dribbled past the Park High School defence and then casually passed the ball through the goalkeeper’s legs for a remarkable effort.

The school congratulate the boys on an outstanding team effort.
