Peter Wright hit all four goals as Nelson won 4-0 at Silsden on Tuesday night.
And on the back of Saturday’s 2-1 defeat at Alsager Town, the win lifted the Blues to seventh in the table.
At Silsden, the Admirals started well, but saw chances squandered by Joe O’Neill and Wright, before the latter opened the scoring five minutes before half-time.
Danny Mahoney’s corner bounced around the box before Wright forced the ball home with a combination of shin, knee and thigh.
And in injury time Wright added a second when he latched onto a loose back pass and finished clincally.
Around the hour mark, Nelson twice won penalties, both for fouls on Gareth Peet, both dispatched by Wright, for a memorable personal feat, and a welcome victory for Mark Fell’s side.
However, on Saturday, the Blues saw a 1-0 half-time lead overturmed at Alsager.
Debutant Amido Batis-Cande hit the bar before Nelson went in front just before the break when a long cross from Alex Porter, also making his Blues bow, found O’Neill, who produced a crisp right-foot shot to beat the keeper.
Alsager looked dangerous on the break in the second half, and the Bullets levelled when a shot from distance from Craig Dove beat the unsighted Garmano Mendes.
And the hosts claimed all three points two minutes from time when sloppy defending allowed Shane Reaney to cut inside and beat Mendes at his near post.
Nelson are at home against AFC Blackpool on Saturday.
