Nelson claimed a fifth win in six Lancashire League outings as professional Reeza Hendricks ended his stint with the club with a superb all-round display.
Hendricks (pictured) signed off with 5-55 as Crompton were dismissed for 144, chasing Nelson’s 209-9 – of which the South African made 32.
Hendricks will now link up with the South Africa ODI squad, whose tour of Sri Lanka begins later this month.
Skipper Russell Bradley won the toss and chose to bat at Glebe Street in Shaw, and after losing brother Lewis for two at 11, David Crotty (30) and Matthew Pettinger (17) put on 39 for the second wicket.
Several other batsmen got good starts, as Hendricks made 32, Neil Thompson 18, Russell Bradley 21. Elliot Bradley a first-team best 34, and Mo Basat 29 not out.
Danny Cashin took 3-49, Adam Good 3-54 and professional Aubrey Swanepoel 3-57 for Crompton.
In reply, Hendricks took 5-55 as Crompton were all out for 144 in 38.4 overs. Sam Rigby made 39, Harry Dean 30, Denis Louis 20 and Mohammad Jamal 19.
Nelson host Todmorden on Sunday.
