Nelson and Colne are ready for the start of the Lancashire League season on Sunday.

Both will be looking for improved showings from last year, when Nelson finished 10th and Colne 12th.

Nelson have added Simon Doane, Adil Ali, Yousuf Ali and Saeed Riaz to their squad, while Toxy Hussain, Waqas Tahir and Rizwan Hussain have left Seedhill.

The club will be holding a pre-season social evening tonight in the clubhouse, starting at 7-30 p.m. There will be a table top quiz, and a curry will be served. Admission is free and all are welcome.

It will be an opportunity to meet professional Ryan Canning, who arrived from South Africa on Wednesday, ahead of the opener at Bacup.

Colne, meanwhile, who host East Lancs, welcome back South African Shadley van Schalkwyk.

The Horsfield side have brought in Maz Clark, Danny Jones and Danyal Qasim, but lost Matt Wilson and Nathan Whitehead.
