There wasn’t a ball bowled in Nelson and Colne’s Lancashire League mini-derbies on Sunday.

Nelson were at Turf Moor to face Burnley, while Colne hosted Lowerhouse.

All of Sunday’s matches were rained off, and will be replayed on Saturday, May 31st.

Tomorrow, Nelson are at Haslingden, while Colne are at home to Ramsbottom, and on Sunday, it is the Worsley Cup, where Nelson entertain Church, and Colne are at holders Burnley.

An excellent 60 from Yousuf Ali couldn’t save Nelson seconds from a 19-run defeat against Lowerhouse, who were all out for 142.

Nelson Under 13s were beaten by Todmorden in the league cup with three balls to spare, despite an unbeaten 28 from Matthew Pettinger and two early wickets from Sam Johnson.

The side also lost by 14 runs in the league to Rishton, after Joseph Whitlam and Keiron Cunningham took two wickets each, and Johnson (21) and Ben Dinning (17) put on 35 after being reduced to 8-3.
