Mixed fortunes for Barnoldswick as Abdul hits form

Abdul Saddique made 99 and 94 as Barnoldswick won one and lost one against Brooksbottom and Padiham.

Padiham triumphed in final-ball drama at the Arbories on Saturday.

Professional Darryl Losper (51) and amateur batsman Anthony Hall (57) struck half centuries for the hosts, as they finished on 228.

Louis Delport took 7-74 for Barlick.

In reply, former Padiham player Saddique fell one run short of his century, as his side fell two runs short of victory after a last-ball run out.

Faisal Hussain hit 42 off 39 balls, Umar Saddique made and Delport added 29.

The following day, Brooksbottom’s Tim Stephens hit 115, with 13 fours and two sixes, while Zohaib Qureshi added 66 as the hosts made 247-9, with wickets for Saffi (6-66) and Delport (3-116).

But Barlick passed the target with eight balls and five wickets to spare with knocks from Abdul Saddique (94 not out), Umar Saddique (58), Delport (23) and skipper Luke Hodgson (24).

Barnoldswick host Settle tomorrow.
