Nelson Cricket Club’s Under 11s had a mixed week, beating Ramsbottom but losing to Todmorden and Clitheroe.

Wickets and runs were shared in an excellent team performance in a 65-run win against Ramsbottom, led by captain Jack Bradley.

Against Todmorden, Bradley and Miles Pemberton were the pick of the batsmen in a 48-run loss, and against Clitheroe, no-one really stood out for Nelson in a 27-run defeat, although Pemberton took 2-1 and Joe Dickinson 2-12.

Nelson Under nines’ game with Ramsbottom was abandoned with Rammy 240-5, with Ethan Pemberton taking 2-14, and Joe Birks, Anna Pettinger and Tom Garner also among the wickets.

With the bat, Oliver Dinning made 15 not out, again making a telling contribution in the Nelson total of 220-4 when heavy rain brought proceedings to a close.

The Under 13s’ full 11-a-side team were entertained by Haslingden, but lost by five wickets, the hosts making 57-5, after Nelson reached 56-6.

George Graham and captain Sam Johnson contributed with the bat, and Keiron Cunningham took two cheap wickets, with an excellent all-round performance from newcomer Liam Owen.

Today, the Under 9s are at Haslingden, before hosting Darwen on Monday. The Under 13s B are at home to Greenmount on Monday.

On Tuesday the Under 11s host Bacup and the Under 13s B are at Ramsbottom, and on Wednesday, the Under 13s A host Rishton, and the Under 15s are at Haslingden.
