Saturday saw Barlick Fell Runners’ first cross country race of the year at Chorley.
The Under 11s fielded a team for the first time in the Mid Lancs, and Harley Treitl(13th) led the team to fifth place with Elliot Phillips and Halliday. There were sterling performances from Oliver Whipp, Jack Lathom and Harry Carpendale.
The Under 13s, represented by Aaron Slater and Bryce Hendley, both had good solid runs.
The ladies finished third overall with Jen Hird, Lorraine Slater and Leanne Dinsdale packing well on the day. The ladies were well backed up by Lucy Beresford, Emma Bailey and Heather Driver.
The men then took centre stage and destroyed the field. Jimmy Craig had another fabulous run, finished sixth, Tom Corrigan was ninth, Ian Livesey 13th, Chris Singleton 14th, skipper Nick Treitl 19th and Marc Hartley 23rd.
The B team were eighth overall and the vet 40 team fifth in their category, led by Chris Smale, who was first vet50.
