Jimmy Craig took the field apart at the Weets fell race on Saturday, leading home four Barlick Fell Runners in the top five.

Chris Smale finished second, Marc Hartley fourth and Shaun Chew fifth as Barlick took the team prize yet again, after they had three in the top four at Kelbrook last week in the Pendle and Burnley Grand Prix.

The ladies are also starting to dominate, winning the team prize for the last two weeks as well.

Lorraine Slater finished third, Jen Hird seventh and Angela Donlan eighth.

It’s been a busy couple of weeks, as 19 Barlickers travelled north and also won the team prize at Blencathra in the Lake District, with Jimmy Craig (fifth), Luke Maude (seventh) and Nick Treitl (10th) enough to see off the men from Borrowdale and Keswick.

Sunday brought the latest round of the club championships at Sutton, and Julian Hood narrowly missed out on victory by four seconds, finishing second behind Jack Wood of Ilkley Harriers, backed up by Luke Maude (third) and Andy Berry (fifth).

It meant the club’s fifth team prize in 10 days.

Another cracking week of racing is on the cards this week, with Beamsley Beacon, Buckden Pike and the Greenway 5k on consecutive days.
